Andrea Smith holds a BCA in Modern Dance from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and Dance Certification from UGA. She has taught on the faculties of Agnes Scott College and Queens University, in addition to Ballethnic Dance Academy, Tolbert Yimaz and The Dancers’ Studio/Backstage. She has more than 30 years of professional experience as a teacher, choreographer and dancer. She toured internationally for five years, performing at such prestigious venues as Lincoln Center, Brooklyn Academy of Music, Spoleto USA and the Merce Cunningham Dance Center, as well as at numerous international dance festivals in Europe, Southeast Asia, Canada and the U.S. She serves on the KSU Dance Advisory Board as well as their High School Dance Festival planning Board. She has been fulltime at North Springs since 2003. She now lives in Jasper, has two grown (alumni) children, and plays the upright bass and banjo in touring bands with her husband.
